Update to Services: Level 5 Restrictions
Visitor Policy
Reviewed 02/01/2021, Level 5 Restrictions
With an increase in the number of women being admitted with COVID-19 and the significant increase in COVID-19 community transmissions over the last number of days we regrettably are introducing temporary restrictions on visiting to the antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology wards in order to minimise the risk to patients and staff. This will be effective as from Midnight on Saturday 2nd January 2021.
The designated partner will continue to be allowed accompany the woman who is in labour / giving birth while they are in the Delivery Suite. However, the designated partner will be requested to leave the hospital when the woman is ready for transfer to the postnatal ward.
We regret any inconvenience these restrictions may cause and request your understanding and assistance in their implementation.
Screening for COVID - 19 will continue prior to each visit in the Main Foyer and following entry all designated partners will be required to wear a facemask for the entire duration of their visit which will be provided.
The designated partner will be required to confirm that they are the designated partner at the Security Desk in the Main Foyer.
Safety for women, babies and staff remains our priority and we thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.
20 – 22 week anatomy scan
Update 06/01/21 - 20 – 22 week anatomy scan
Unfortunately due to the introduction of Level 5 COVID-19 restrictions we regret that that we have to restrict partners attending anatomy scans from (and including) this Friday, January 8th. In circumstances where a significant anomaly is identified in the scan we request that partners would be available to be called in to support the woman where required.
We want you to know that we take decisions after careful consideration of the risks to the health and safety of patients and staff. These restrictions are reviewed by our Covid-19 Executive Team on an ongoing basis and will be revised as soon as it is safe to do so.
