*COVID-19 Management
All women being admitted to the Hospital will be required to undergo a test for COVID-19.
A Designated Partner may attend for the labour and delivery while awaiting the woman’s test result.
However, in the following situations:
If a woman tests positive for COVID-19 her partner may attend the birth following confirmation of their negative COVID-19 swab, in addition they must also be asymptomatic. This COVID-19 swab will be arranged by the Hospital at the time the partner is being admitted in labour.
If the partner is deemed a close contact and has tested negative for COVID-19 and is asymptomatic they may attend the birth. However, to do so partners will be required to show proof of a valid test. They will be required to wear appropriate PPE which will be provided by the Hospital.
If the partner tests positive in any circumstances within the last 14 days we regret that they will not be permitted to attend the birth. However, the woman may request to have an alternative birthing partner. This person will be allowed attend following confirmation of their negative COVID-19 swab, in addition they must also be asymptomatic. This swab will be arranged by the Hospital at the time the woman is being admitted in labour.
We regret any inconvenience these restrictions may cause and request your understanding and assistance in their implementation.
Screening for COVID - 19 will continue prior to each visit in the Main Foyer and following entry all designated partners will be required to wear a facemask for the entire duration of their visit which will be provided.
The designated partner will be required to confirm that they are the designated partner at the Security Desk in the Main Foyer.
Please note, due to building works there is currently reduced car parking capacity in the Visitors Car Park.
Antenatal Appointments and Routine Scans
For the safety of all we continue to require that women attend all antenatal appointments and routine scans* on their own.
*20 - 22 week scans

Please attend the hospital waiting room on your own, once you are called to start your scan you can phone your partner or support person to come into the hospital. Partners please enter via the main hospital entrance and you will be directed where to go.
Timings will be strictly adhered to so please ensure that you are on time for your scanning appointment.
We will continue to facilitate attendance of partners where a significant issue is diagnosed.
